On June 2, 2022, Slater Vecchio filed an application for authorization to institute a class action in the Quebec Superior Court for alleged violations of the Quebec Consumer Protection Act by Hyundai Auto Canada Corporation and Kia Canada Inc. in relation to a defect found in the brake system located in the engine compartments of a number of these vehicles that were also found to exist in previous models, the Electrical Fire Defect.
This potential class action seeks to represent all individuals in Quebec who purchased or leased one of the following vehicles:
This Electrical Fire Defect is alleged to expose individuals in the above vehicles to an unreasonable risk of harm, injury, and property damage.
This action is brought on behalf of all individuals in Quebec who purchased or leased one of these vehicles. These individuals are referred to as the proposed Class Members.
