Cost of Care

Cost of care is compensation designed to improve the mental and physical health of the injured person. A trial award may include reasonable expenses such as:

• rehabilitation support services
• housekeeping
• home maintenance and handyman services
• any equipment necessary to provide reasonable mobility and independence
• medications
• psychological services
• physiotherapy
• massage
• chiropractic services
• physical therapy

Additional expenses may also include:

• occupational therapy
• educational and vocational support services
• speech-language services
• child care support
• financial support services
